John DeFore The Hollywood Reporter Game-of-death road movie takes itself much more seriously than viewers will. May 14, 2020 Full Review CJ Sheu Critics at Large But for those, like me, who see a fascinating culture and want to know more, this film is a languorous gondola ride for the mind. Jun 30, 2020 Full Review Benjamin Gummery Battle Royale With Cheese An interesting exploration in to the lives of gun-fighters but not much merit beyond that. Rated: 3/5 Oct 14, 2018 Full Review Gloria Daniels-Moss HeyUGuys Blunt Force Trauma presents a film with much promise, that doesn't quite get there. A film not without its flaws, but an enjoyable one nonetheless. Rated: 3/5 Oct 15, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Pointless..... Disappointing ending. It had potential, yet the directing, editing & writing all wrong ! Mickey Rourke's screen time was approx. 7 minutes of the movie. (The ending). I am also a fan of Ryan Kwanten, this movie did not reflect his acting abilities. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member If this is a "thriller," then the film makers don't get out much. The pacing is like a wounded snail. It's not so much trauma as an annoying paper cut. We had to bite the bullet and shut this snore fest down before Mickey Rourke even appeared. Don't walk, run, or waltz toward this one...skip it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Having nothing to do with it's title, Blunt Force Trauma centers around an odd game where people enter a game of quick draw... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Dull pretentious tosh, poorly acted and lacking any sort of character empathy or discernable plot.. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Proof that if a movie doesn't have your attention 20mins in, it probably never will. This was an utterly joyless, lifeless & ultimately aimless film. Blah. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm no reviewer; this is my first such post. We found Blunt Force Trauma to be surprisingly good, well-acted with a captivating plot line. It never revealed too much and in fact allowed the audience to wonder, surmise, ponder, i.e. actually think and engage. The shotting game or competition was a brand new concept to us, and again, we were allowed to muse ad wonder about the rules and purpose of it. Ultimately (spoiler?) one discovers even its origins. We thought Kwanten and Pinto did a superb job. Rourke was, as always that enigmatic Rourke, but could have been easily missed had we not known him. The ending made us catch our breath. Note: don't leave before the credits roll. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
