Ken Sanzel
Best known for his work on network crime dramas sitcoms, writer, director and producer Ken Sanzel has worked on numerous episodes of shows such as "Blue Bloods" and "Numbers." Before entering the entertainment industry, Sanzel spent time as a police officer, working in the decoy unit of the NYPD. During that time he began writing screenplays and after a childhood friend became a studio executive, he was able to sell a script. He began his professional career in 1997, writing an episode of the series "Lawless," which he followed by writing the screenplay for the John Woo film "The Replacement Killers" a year later. That same year Sanzel wrote and directed the crime thriller "Scar City," which starred Stephen Baldwin and later wrote the film "Dodge City" in 1999. In 2002 Sanzel wrote and directed the mythical Western film "Lone Hero," which starred Lou Diamond Phillips in the lead role. In 2005 he began work on the CBS hit series "Numbers," starring Rob Morrow. Sanzel began working as an executive producer on the show a year later and in 2009 he directed four episodes of the show. In 2010 he directed, wrote, and produced the TV adventure series "Nomads." That same year he was handpicked by CBS to executive the cop themed series "Blue Bloods." The show was created by Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green and starred Tom Selleck in his first leading TV role since "Magnum P.I."
