Geoffrey Macnab Independent (UK) The account of Moore's untimely death, aged only 51, can't help but bring a lump to the throat. Rated: 3/5 May 26, 2016 Full Review Steve Rose Guardian If you can bear another blow-by-blow account of English football's finest hour, this is as good a time as any, and nobody could begrudge Bobby Moore his documentary closeup. Rated: 3/5 May 26, 2016 Full Review Adam Woodward Little White Lies As sporting biopics go, this one is pretty decent. Rated: 3/5 May 25, 2016 Full Review Tom Dawson Total Film Released to mark the 50th anniversary of England's World Cup triumph, this polished doc pays tribute to that winning team's golden-haired captain Bobby Moore. Rated: 4/5 Dec 30, 2016 Full Review Matthew Anderson CineVue Like a good solid four-four-two, it's all fairly conventional documentary fare. Rated: 3/5 Jun 2, 2016 Full Review Grant Rollings The Sun (UK) With the 50th anniversary of England's win fast approaching, this is a chance to revisit how Bobby made football a beautiful game. Audience Member This is quite a safe documentary, apart from poking a little into how Moore was offered no support by the F.A. after retirement, there are no real discoveries here. The film also quickly side-steps the story of his son's life problems and Moore's marital issues, somehow having an affair even seems to be a gentlemanly act here. It's a polished, enjoyable account of his life, no more, no less but it can be definitely be throughly enjoyed on that level. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member A fantastic documentary about Bobby Moore; one of sports greatest ever heroes. A true gentleman, a true leader and a fantastic footballer Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the most iconic and influential English footballers gets a superb retelling of his epic life on the pitch. Sadly, it also shoes the sad demise too which only goes to show how special he really was. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A truly sad end to englands greatest, and the great man wasnt even knighted?! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Solid fare as far as sports documentaries go... Irrespective of how much you know about the man or the 1966 World Cup triumph, if you have even a passing interest then this is worthwhile... Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I took great delight in watching Iceland win last night, but when you take into account the astronomical amount of money that those over rated spineless cunts like Wilshere, Kane, Rooney etc get paid and compare them to Bobby Moore it really puts into perspective every single thing that is wrong with modern day football. The English FA and West Ham United come out of this very badly. Their treatment of arguably their greatest ever player is disgusting. By naming a stand after him or placing a statue of a remarkable human being outside their national stadium doesn't make up for it either. I don't recognise knighthood 's as an honour or something to respect but when you see some of the no marks who have received one over the years it also highlights how the establishment also disrespected him. Maybe he was too big of a figure and threat to the powers that be. This is a moving documentary and after the English national teams performance at Euro 2016 all those pampered millionaires should have their eye lids clamped A Clockwork Orange style and made watch this film.
