Audience Member A very melancholy movie! This is a true movie that gets you sucked in and plays with your emotions! This movie takes the romance genre and moves it away from it being a "chick-flick" into a complete guy film! A fantastic but sad story that most guys might be able to relate to, this film takes you into the depressing life of a loser who won the heart of a girl, to only get it crushed, ruining his life, and then decides to turn what seemed like a fairy tail ending, into "what were you thinking?" ending! A great Japanese romance that deserves to be looked at by all guys! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member pretty entertaining stupidity Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Japanese when they are NOT all tender and goofy: a sad, unforgiving tale modeled around Raging Bull about many betrayal and a "coitus interruptus" kind of revenge, placing at its center the very opposite of a sympathetic character. Losers sometimes deserve the worst. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member What does regret feel like? Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member one of the best movies ive seen in a while Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review jesse o Good movie that's carried by a strong second half and an eccentric charm that permeates throughout the entire movie. The problem is the first half, not that it was bad, and again the eccentric charm helped carry a lot of it, it's just that I didn't find it that interesting, even if it does set up Tanishi's breakdown. Though I will say that the movie is incredibly paced, especially when a lot of Asian movies I've seen are longer than they should be. I think the second half does a great job at telling Tanishi's story and how slowly descends into madness over this girl who won't return his affections after a mistake he made. There's some great character development with the Tanishi character and they make him into someone you want to root for in spite of his very obvious problems he has. He simply isn't perfect and Kazunobu Mineta does a great job playing the part. But overall, I still really enjoyed the movie with or without the awkward first hour.
