s r A short, but good Hitchcock mystery. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member very interesting propaganda short by Hitchcock. the tale of an escaping RAF pilot attempting to reach safety travelling through occupied France is shown & then recounted from a different viewpoint, which must have been a relatively novel device in it's day. clever & only ~25mins long, i was glad to have actually seen this after hearing it referenced to over the years. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Nice little war propaganda short film by Hitchcock. It may be French dialogue but the intrigue is still there. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting and stylish, but pretty lightweight. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Wartime oddity - a propaganda movie made in England, but with all the dialogue in French. Despite the obvious budgetary limitations, Hitchcock manages to conjure up quite a gripping little POW escape tale. (Though if the goal was to encourage the French Resistance, I'm not sure how successful it was, as the plucky resistors mostly seem to get shot.) Worth a look when it pops up on Sky Arts if you're interested. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
