The film may be shameless self-promotion and navel-gazing (it's sponsored by Vans), but the interviews are so candid and introspective that it's worthwhile. Go to Full Review

02/22/2019 This is a must for anyone who grew up with the Tony Hawk games. Telling the tale behind every poster-worthy skater - from the iconic Tony Hawk, to the poetically beautiful Rodney Mullen - and how the very skating industry went from boom to bust in just a few short years. For non skaters, this is a great insight into a social subculture, and for skaters this is essential viewing See more 08/26/2015 Stacy Peralta makes another killer skateboarding documentary about the team of all-star skaters he hand-picked to form the legendary Bones Brigade, who dominated the '80s and went on to unforeseen heights. Peralta knows the territory well and crafts a great story about complex characters who helped to define one of the most influential "scenes" of our generation. See more 06/26/2015 A little disjointed, where I wasn't sure exactly what they were talking about, or if they had moved onto another topic. Also some very hard to hear and understand interviews, I had to turn on the subtitles to read what they were saying. Overall, a very good story of the beginning of the skateboard industry, with input from all the best and most influential people. Watched on Netflix at home with Josh, June 26, 2015.
