Robert E. W 11/19/2024 Though slow in spots and a little dry, this is a compelling account of a story more people need to know. Dietrich Bonhoeffer is a personal hero of mine, and at a time when authoritarianism is threatening even those of us in America, his example of standing up for God's claim to be God despite the assaults of cult which exalts hate and imagined grievance above Christ's call to love and compassion is desperately needed in America today, especially since the opponents of everything Christ stood for are trying, ironically, to turn him into a hero for their own evil cause. Bonhoeffer's own voice, and Christ's call to love our neighbor rather than persecuting him, rings out through this film. And these must be heard. See more 01/01/2011 Put simply, it's important to know that Bonhoeffer existed, and acted as he did. This movie should be hugely inspirational. As a film, though, this is a bit flat. Not too terribly exciting, but interesting enough for me to keep watching it. The acting was decent, and the cinematography was nice. Just a decent watch..nothing mind blowing here.
