Sandra Hall Sydney Morning Herald You'd have to be a comic genius to dig your way out from under such a mess and the script has neglected to supply Dukes with the tools to make it happen. Rated: 2/5 Oct 26, 2018 Full Review David Stratton The Australian Heath Davis directed and does a very competent job in every department, except for the fact that he obviously wants us to love the decidedly unlovable protagonist. Rated: 3/5 Oct 26, 2018 Full Review Alan Ng Film Threat As cringe comedies go, Book Week is a pretty solid comedy and worth watching. Rated: 8/10 May 6, 2019 Full Review Zoe Crombie Film Inquiry As another indie small-scale Australian romp, Book Week doesn't quite reach the lofty heights of earlier offerings this year like Ali's Wedding, but it provides an intriguing look at a man in peril and the place of literature in a contemporary context. Nov 17, 2018 Full Review Jim Schembri 3AW There are very good performances all round in this low-budget Aussie ensemble comedy, but with so much going on it's sometimes hard keeping track of all the story threads. Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 5, 2018 Full Review Erin Free FILMINK (Australia) ...a little gem of a film. Rated: 17/20 Oct 8, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member just seen the movie- dog's breakfast of a movie. Improbable tale of redemption mixed with caring teacher. will he won't he take responsibility for himself ande his actions- in essence a morality tale laid on heavy... extremely unlikeable character. Unfortunately most of the characters were on the road to caricatures. Almodovar should have made this movie and the protagonist should have been a transvestite serial killer- much more fun... Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny and sad at the same time, this movie is about a writer/teacher who is excruciatingly disappointing to everyone in his life. You just don't know whether you want to laugh or cry half the time! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
