Audience Member More than just "Super Bad" with girls, "Booksmart" is a hilarious, heartfelt, and brilliantly-directed comedy film. Sharply written. Superbly acted. One of the funniest movies of 2019. Also Olivia Wilde directed the ever-loving s*** out of this movie. Can't wait to see her next one! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm partial to comedies, and Olivia Wilde's directorial debut didn't disappoint. Aline Dolinh Bitch Media Though it really shouldn't be at this point in time, it's exhilarating to see a film centered on teenage girls... Yet to champion the film as a universal reflection of teenage girldom rather than a highly specific fantasy also does it a disservice. Mar 13, 2021 Full Review Rachel Vorona Cote Bitch Media With elegant clarity, Booksmart demonstrates how certain experiences can feel colossal and of walloping import even when we know we're waiting for something else-something we can't possibly fathom. Mar 12, 2021 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) ...witty, raucous, perfectly played and eventually packs an emotional wallop. Rated: 4/5 Dec 16, 2019 Full Review Ryan McQuade InSession Film Wilde's direction and script oozes with the confidence and mastery of someone that has been directing for ten-plus years. Apr 4, 2024 Full Review Ethan Gordon InSession Film Something just clicks about Booksmart. It’s startlingly funny, maybe a tad over the top, but I struggle to find something that’s a genuine issue. Rated: A Mar 21, 2024 Full Review Tina Kakadelis Beyond the Cinerama Dome Booksmart is hilarious without ever making fun of someone for the sake of a joke. It is earnest and sweet, a pure delight.
