Ed Gonzalez Slant Magazine Told as a carefree series of serio-comic encounters, recalling the spirit of Catch-22, and as such it's no surprise that that film flirts with inconsequentiality. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 28, 2007 Full Review V.A. Musetto New York Post The script is fresh and accessible -- even for folks who don't know Croatia from Cambodia -- and it is put over by solid acting and direction. Rated: 3/4 Mar 9, 2007 Full Review Andrew O'Hehir Salon.com Rajko Grlic's film is a sometimes wistful, sometimes farcical comedy, in the honorable Eastern European tradition, set along the Yugoslav-Albanian border in the halcyon days of 1987. Mar 7, 2007 Full Review David Walsh World Socialist Web Site Border Post contains some genuinely amusing moments and feeling for humanity. Only one element is lacking, any hint as to why the region would be engulfed in fratricidal war within a few years' time. Feb 14, 2021 Full Review Steve Rhodes Internet Reviews First and foremost, what good comedies require are credible characters, which this film doesn't have. Audience Member Starts off not so interesting; but turns way much better off near the end. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member very entertaining up to the end, where it takes a U turn. very good film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member great movie, great direction, great cast Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie evokes nostalgic feelings for the time of Yugoslavia, even to audiences who were born after the break up and never witnessed life in the joint country. Through great comedy, the movie paints a realistic picture of the multinational character of socialist Yugoslavia, but also gives a remarkable metaphor about the events that lead to the devastating war and separation. The acting is also remarkable, since each character is a highly trustworthy depiction of it's nationality. Also, supreme photography! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Jedan od solidnijih domacih filmova u poslednjih 5-6 godina, naizgled humoristican, a u sustini krajnje tragican, mada bez nekog velikog povoda. Sergej Trifunovic u ulozi kakva njemu lezi, sjajni Diklic u mini-roli, dosta autenticnih snimaka brainwashinga sa nacionalne tv, par replika za pamcenje, ali sve bez nekog dubljeg smisla, bez zasto i bez kako Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member very well made film. iTS not so local and gets straight to the point.
