As a documentary, this isn't too bad but I felt it didn't really work as a film. I assumed it to be a film and I've seen plenty of documentary films that I enjoyed - this has some good things going for it but overall I didn't think it was particularly memorable. I liked the visual style it has (a kind of semi animated, old fashioned black and white type look to it). I didn't feel it was particularly dramatic, even though its depicting some relatively spooky moments. This film/show is all about an interesting story which I wouldn't mind reading about but I think it would be better as a non fiction book than it is as a sort of mix of a documentary film and a half attempt at a drama film, which doesn't really work. There's certainly no jump scares, for one thing, or any real sense of feeling on the edge of your proverbial seat. It is somewhat atmospheric and a bit of a curious watch but its not a film I'd recommend seeing as such, no.

Unnerving, but not outright scary. Nice animation and talented acting from Shearsmith.
