Victoria 05/19/2023 I don't think it is right to compare this movie to Top Gun: Maverick. Both are about planes and depict flying, but in all other aspects the movies are very different. The director of Born to Fly intended it as a tribute to actual test pilots and some real stories are incorporated in the plot rather than it being fictional. I liked the characters in Born to Fly and found their stories touching, especially knowing that the plot was based on real pilots' lives and death. The characters are likable and relationships between them are wholesome. There are funny moments and moments when you can't help crying. I'm not really into technical details or aviation in general, but the visual part of the movie made the work of creating a new type of planes interesting for me and I was invested in the success of the characters. The special effects were really good. The acting of the cast is very good and convincing. I enjoyed watching this movie. See more kathy 05/06/2023 Excellent movie! Highly recommended! It's based on true story of test pilots who risk their lives to test out the new models. They are brave heros and also like any friends of us who make jokes. Actor Wang Yibo as Lei Yu is so handsome. The J-20 fighter jet is so cool. You'll laugh with the front part of the movie and getting emotional and crying later. I really enjoyed this movie and admire of those test pilots. It brings viewers into the unknown world of these amazing elite pilots who risk their lives testing new model fighter jets for their country . The storyline is very exhilarating and will have audiences heart pumping throughout the entire film . Really enjoyed seeing the main characters Wang Yibo as Lei Yu and Deng Fangs growth throughout the film which led to a satisfying ending however it was heartbreaking seeing the fatal crash of their captain Zhang Ting and the cruel reality of this fulfilling but dangerous position in the aviation world . Overall this is one of the most meaningful films of the year that I am defiantly looking forward to watching on repeat . Wang Yibo, did a great job in this film as well. He is becoming an excellent actor. It had a ton of action and backstory on some of the characters. Such a dangerous job! I was very impressed. It was nice to see another country proud of their achievements as we are with ours. Everyone loves their country is a good take away. We should all be proud of test pilots from every country who lay their lives on the line to help make their individual nations strong. Leave any bias at home and enjoy the movie!
