When BELLA realizes her mentally ill uncle/stepfather GORDY hid her college acceptance letter, she kicks him out of the house for the last time... so she thinks. When her mother YEVA allows Gordy back, Bella and her pocket squirrel BANDIT bolt to NYC with no money, no friends, no roof, and too much pride to turn back. With help from MARTA, an undocumented immigrant, OWAIS, a lonely vet, and STANDRICK, an insecure designer, Bella thrives, until she discovers an unlikely and horrifying connection. This revelation propels Bella to act without consulting her new "found family" and the results are devastating. Bella and her friends concoct a dark dangerous plan to break free from Gordy forever. The plan works, then fails, then works, and then fails. It finally corrects itself with the help of the unlikeliest person, but in the most heart-wrenching, tragic way.

Sebastian Zavala Kahn Ventana Indiscreta It's an interesting indie offering; a story centred on a main character plagued by internal issues who also has to deal with having abandoned an aggressive stepfather and a psychologically and physically fragile mother. [Full review in Spanish]. Rated: 4/5 Jun 16, 2025 Full Review Louisa Moore Screen Zealots This dark indie understands the power of quiet moments, the weight of unspoken trauma, and the necessity of survival. Jun 10, 2025 Full Review Tim Brennan About Boulder Props to director Isaac Hirotsu Woofter for making a gritty drama with feature elements that never dip into grimdarkness or needless cruelty. Jun 2, 2025 Full Review Casey Chong Casey's Movie Mania Alexandra Faye Sadeghian’s otherwise intense performance can’t overcome Isaac Hirotsu Woofter’s clunky indie drama. Rated: 2.5/5 May 30, 2025 Full Review Aaron Neuwirth We Live Entertainment I was very much engaged by this movie’s gritty yet captivating look at homelessness and mental illness. Raw performances from almost all involved helped develop a world, even while keeping the low budget in mind. Rated: 7/10 May 23, 2025 Full Review Pat Padua Spectrum Culture A convincing coming-of-age drama that becomes a less convincing crime drama in the third act. But the largely unknown cast carries this idiosyncratic vision. Rated: 67/100 May 20, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Jason D Great acting, great production value, great story, great indie film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/26/25 Full Review Laurie W This is a very thought-provoking movie with deep, multi-faceted characters you become invested in as the story unfolds. The movie explores generational trauma, tragedy, and redemption through the eyes of Bella and her found family in NYC. It’s dark but so full of character and story details that there are new layers to discover every time you watch it. Kudos to Isaac and the whole cast and crew. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/14/25 Full Review Tim R I am completely in awe of Isaac Hirotsu Woofter‘s beautiful drama. What he has created is the definition of indie filmmaking at its absolute finest! The film moved me deeply and the performances were flawless. Alexandra Faye Sadeghian is magical and heartbreaking in the central role. I cannot wait to see her career soar! I was honored to see this film at a screening in North Hollywood. Seeing it on the big screen was thrilling. But if you can’t see it on the big screen (where I think all films belong), please do yourself a favor and rent and/or buy it! The film deals with some issues that were personal to me, but anyone who has ever loved or lost (and who hasn’t?) will be able to relate. Isaac Hirotsu Woofter is one of the most exciting new voices in cinema and I CANNOT WAIT to see what is next for him! Bravo!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/05/25 Full Review Isabel W If you are wanting something light hearted and cute on in the background while doing remedial tasks, this is not the film for you. It is very subtle and complex, so you will miss something. There is a powerful message of hope and understanding in this raw film that doesn't hold anything back. If you give into it, there is no way you won't feel something in this heart wrenching beautiful story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/01/25 Full Review Nadya Y Great Physc Thriller. My family and I enjoyed this film a lot. Skillful cinematography and strong character development. À must see.
