erroll f Sophia splashes in to American movies with her gorgeous , sexy watery presence. Right from go you know she is more than a pretty face and body. She has spunk! Her leading man Alan Ladd is terribly miscast. Only Clifton Webb as the greedy ,wealthy collector is able to steel a scene or Two from Ms Loren. Filmed on the beautiful Greek island of Hedra, this is a showcase for Sophia Loren. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/08/23 Full Review Tom M Loren's first American film has her diving and soaking wet during many scenes. Make no mistake ; her performance is strong and she'd be stunning wearing a burlap sack. Webb is always great playing sleazeballs. Always a fan of Ladd but here he's too much older than Loren. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/28/21 Full Review kevin w There are literally five performers in this film set against the backdrop of the sun-washed Grecian Isles: Sophia Loren, her chest and her eyes (in that order precisely). The director wastes no time in showcasing her chest, and the guy was right about that. She was 23 when filmed and a Death Star all on her own, in her own right. What's interesting is how she fights to be more than simply eye candy, and that is seen in her eyes which is where one meets the firebrand Ms. Loren herself, and her international debut is explosive indeed. Yes, other people show up, but what chance do they have? The Greek Islands barely had a chance. The story, about the quest for a found item of antiquity, hardly matters at all, the camera - and you, dear reader - merely waiting for Loren to show up again. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Okay story is boosted by quality performers Clifton Webb and Sophia Loren in her big international breakthrough and dazzling Greek locations all in breathtaking color. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Oh my God, Sophia Loren is a Goddess! Her passion, her eyes. I was in love with her as a teen and as an old man still she is the one!
