David W Great start, dragged for a while depending on how you feel about the cast of Irish characters and then had a decent enough ending. The general pacing was a bit too slow for my tastes but it had it's moments. A luke warm recommendation but a welcome change of style for a genre horror movie. Not sure why it's billed as a comedy though as its not particularly funny. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/20/23 Full Review Logan D When a highway is declared to be constructed thru some farmlands, the workers inadvertently release an ages old vampire whose legend inspired Stoker. A delightful hoot that twists some vampire lore in interesting ways. Love the opening. Love me some dark humor. Recommended Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/03/23 Full Review Mike F They call it a "vampire horror-comedy" but it's more accurate to describe it as a "vampire horror whilst Irish people act Irish about it". Good story with likeable characters. I enjoyed it! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/14/23 Full Review R. L The film offers a fresh take on the look but also (and this is the most refreshing) on the "modus operandi" of the vampire. But mostly it offers and adorable set of characters, totally unexpected in a genre movie. Good fun. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The way horror/comedy should be. Perfect execution! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/23 Full Review brad p Boys From County Hell is funny, bloody, and quite an emotional ride. Jordan King Empire Magazine Combining genuine emotional stakes, biting black humour and enough blood and dismembered limbs to satisfy even seasoned gorehounds, Chris Baugh's terrific, unorthodox vampire flick has got it where it Counts. Rated: 4/5 Aug 6, 2021 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) The homegrown comedy horror genre is given a revitalising lift with this witty and smartly played yarn about an unearthed vampire terrorising a tiny rural community in Northern Ireland. Rated: 4/5 Aug 6, 2021 Full Review Marina Ashioti Little White Lies A hollow viewing experience where there are just no stakes. Rated: 2/5 Aug 5, 2021 Full Review Alistair Lawrence Common Sense Media This spirited horror-comedy, that is as much a monster movie as it is a vampire flick, might not offer much new, but it has a good time doing it nonetheless. Rated: 3/5 Mar 3, 2022 Full Review Christopher Cross Tilt Magazine Boys from County Hell manages to be the entertaining horror film it sets out to be while invigorating itself with a refreshing take on vampire mythology. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 15, 2022 Full Review Jason Shawhan Nashville Scene An imaginative nightmare with a few good laughs, Boys From County Hell is one for the books because of its mercurial vision and innovation with the undying myths. And the subtle shocks that never fade. Sep 8, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
