Gleichzeitig ist es auch die letzte Nacht für Corey und Jango, bevor sie von der Highschool abgehen… Ein Coming-of-Age-Film mit Horror-Element… Es ist die Nacht der Nächte, es ist Halloween und eine bizarre Welt von 2 Jungen, die sich faszinierende Geschichten erzählen. Ein Film mit ausgezeichneten Dialogen… mit guten schauspielerischen Elementen, hervorragenden Charakteren und einem perfekt dazu passenden Soundtrack von Darrin Verhagen… ein perfektes Schauspiel in jeder Hinsicht…

I really thought I'd turn this film off after I realised it was a ‘coming of age' thing, with the usual bullying, teenage idiots chest bumping, and general nastiness. Then the film hooked me. Take it for what it is, their fantasy/childhood/future, with halloween as the backdrop. The young actors do well, and yes, the script is not perfect, but I'm glad I watched this film, even though I have to admit I got a bit teary at the end.

I think that this movie its a masterpiece. the sounds, music, colors, and shooting angles are perfect, felt in love with the caracteres and what they represent. A must watch for halloween season.

Usually a 78% critic consensus is spot on, but that wasn't the case for 'Boys in the tree's'. There never really is a plot that sets in, and even if there was it was sloppily done. The acting wasn't bad but that wasn't enough to make up for this mess of a plot and muddled dialogue.
