Lisa Cam Time Out If you've had a hard day and want to watch something to restore your sense of justice in this world, then Braven has all the boxes well and truly ticked. Rated: 4/5 Mar 13, 2018 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com ... there's plenty about this tiny action effort to stand up and cheer. Rated: 3/4 Feb 2, 2018 Full Review Nick Allen RogerEbert.com An automatic type of action movie, often only challenging its predictability by getting goofier and goofier. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 2, 2018 Full Review Brent McKnight The Last Thing I See "Braven" scratches a very particular itch for those longing for the types of beefy-father-protects-his-brood pictures Schwarzenegger and Stallone turned out in the '80s. And Jason Momoa chucking axes at baddies is always a welcome sight. Rated: B Jul 1, 2020 Full Review Matt Donato Flickering Myth Braven is the kind of 90s punch-in-the-mouth genre fans fight tooth-and-nail to find nowadays. Jack S Momoa gets a chance to demonstrate his exceptional hatchet throwing abilities in this otherwise unremarkable action movie. But it’s unfortunate that he isn’t able to do likewise with his acting skills! For example, he tries too hard to show his sensitive, emotional side in a few sentimental scenes with his family but, he simply doesn’t have the chops to winningly pull it off. What his fans really want to see is him busting bad guy’s heads in action scenes but, a few inept (apart from the hatchet-throwing thing) performances in a couple lackluster fight sequences are included to show, I suppose, that he’s human. The protracted ending, including a ridiculous scene involving a rope and a bear trap, is simply laughable. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/17/25 Full Review Sam F Braven" was a major disappointment. The night scenes are so poorly lit that, even with perfect 20/20 vision, I couldn’t make out what was happening. Despite Jason Momoa and Stephen Lang being talented actors, this feels like a B-grade movie. The plot is tired and overused, beaten into irrelevance at this point. I couldn’t sit through more than the first 10 minutes. Honestly, it’s not even worth the time to watch the trailer Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/26/24 Full Review Greg H There is still about 40 seconds left on the runtime of this movie and all I could think about was how many people had given positive reviews for it. So, I decided to get here ASAP to make sure one more voice was heard going against that. What an absolute pile this movie was. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/17/24 Full Review Jeremy A This was a really fun movie. Fun action scenes and the ending was fun. 4* Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Thomas R Started out ok. Then about halfway it just went downhill. The plot became more and more stupid. And by plot I mean killing of bad guys. 🤣 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/05/24 Full Review Liam D An surprisingly great survival thriller with strong direction by Lin Oeding (The Blacklist, Lifted) and a badass lead performance by Jason Momoa (Wolves, Road to Paloma) Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Read all reviews
