      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Choppily edited and largely bereft of plot, Brick Mansions wastes a likable cast on a pointless remake of the far more entertaining District B13.

Michael B Rock on! Action genre fans: non-stop top-notch action with a simple (unrealistic) storyline but that's all you'd want from an action movie, and the action includes lots of martial arts, plus a twist and surprisingly meaningful ending! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/24 Full Review Natnael B For me it's enjoyable good and satisfying movie i watched it so many times doesn't get old. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review Kalu L Nothing special compared to the original. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/05/23 Full Review Alain M action is good, Paul Walker does what he has to do and David Belle is back in action as Lino, but the movie never gets up to par with the original Banlieu 13. So you truly wanna see the best then go see the 2 orginals Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/19/23 Full Review Liam N Movie is below average, but is still really fun for fans of walker. Good parkour and OK chemistry between leads provides enough to be satisfied. Walker has a hilarious scene with a giant guy and some good driving scenes. All in all, not as bad as people say. Rip Paul. 6.0/10 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Terrible story and worse acting. Unfortunate because I really like Paul walker Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/12/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mark Kermode Observer (UK) It's solidly unsurprising (and often quite boring) generic fare, spiced up with steroidal pectorals and fetishy catfights. Rated: 2/5 May 4, 2014 Full Review David Hughes Empire Magazine Too much muscle-headed action, too little parkour (Belle is getting on a bit) - this property is condemned. Rated: 2/5 May 2, 2014 Full Review Mike McCahill Guardian The Raid 2 got most of its kicks in situ; this deploys a lot of edit-suite trickery to generate only moderate dynamism. May 1, 2014 Full Review Robert Sims Lights Camera Austin The late Paul Walker's given nothing to do in Brick Mansions other than to marvel at David Belle's amazing acrobatics and stare down bad guy RZA. This isn't much of a surprise considering this is a very lazy remake. Jan 22, 2022 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse It won't engage your brain, but is wild enough to keep your eyes glued to the screen. Rated: 3/5 Feb 1, 2021 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Prioritizes the action, clearly unwilling to be bothered with constructing adequate character development or even a brief history on its subjects.
