What to Know

Critics Consensus

Bride of Chucky is devoid of any fright and the franchise has become tiresomely self-parodic, although horror fans may find some pleasure in this fourth entry's camp factor.

Xan Brooks Independent (UK) Bride of Chucky strings together a series of humorous asides and knee-jerk shock tactics. I had a hard time staying awake during this because it was so boring and the jokes were all low hanging fruit. Chucky used to be dark and scary. What happened?? Jennifer Tilly did her best but it wasn't enough to save this. Ray Best Chucky movie hands down so happy to see it return to theaters 🫶🏻 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/31/24 Full Review Jesse It's always great to see Chucky back in theaters! Aside from the original, this is my second favorite entry. #savechucky Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/31/24 Full Review Kevin It was amazing seeing Bride of Chucky for the first time in theaters. It has always been one of my favorites in the franchise. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/24/24 Full Review Rowan C I think this was one of the best things to do for Chucky. Giving him a partner in crime was genius and hilarious. This was more of a comedic Chucky movie and the whole purpose of this movie is to get to New Jersey to retrieve an amulet that weill help them get back to human bodies. Jesse and Jade are dragged along this journey, with the two lovers that are just killing anyone that pissess them off. Chucky had a bunch of funny one-liners and he was having the time of his life on the way to New Jersey. At the end, we see the two lovers quarrel and Tiffany ends up stabbing Chucky in the back. The fight kept going on and it ended with Chucky stabbing her in the stomach and him getting shot in his own burial site. The last scene of this movie was showing Tiffany delivering a baby, which is what the next movie will be about. Overall, I give this a decent score because of the comedy and it was a cool idea to give Chucky someone to work with while he commits heinous acts. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/03/24 Full Review Jurassic P I thought this movie was amazing. It was everything I had hoped for in a movie titled "Bride of Chucky". I don't know why people are rating it so poorly, I think they thought that this movie was going to be a some cinematic masterpiece, like the movie Everything Everywhere all at Once which had amazing visuals and many deep themes; but no! This movie ISN'T supposed to be a movie film students study for years to come, it's supposed to be a goofy, gory, and watch-with-friends, type of movie. This movie combines horror and comedy A LOT better than the previous Chucky movies, it also (unlike the previous three chucky movies) has an actual character arc and a good plot. It's not a "I'm a doll and I want to kill people" type of plot, it actually makes sense and follows everything pretty clearly instead of random death, chase/horror scene, another death, and then the ending. Also our two main character "Chucky and Tiffany actually have character arcs. Tiffany goes from loving Chucky to realizing he's really a bad husband, and it's the lack of an arc Chucky that makes Tiffany realize that he never was the right husband. We never got this in previous movies, it was always, Chucky is bad, Andy is good and THAT'S ALL, no character arcs for any characters whatsoever. In all, this film is a goofy and un-serious film BUT it does have a good plot, and some themes; which other Chucky movies lack. Overall this movie is a great comedy and slasher film, but it does deal with topics like love, and abusive relationships, and also finding the right person. This is why I think this is the best Chucky movie (out of the first four) . If you are looking for something fun and entertaining to watch with friends or by yourself, I highly recommend this movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Byron H 2/4 Bride has its moments, is it as good as the original trilogy?... It is does it's best.
