      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Bride Wars takes the already wearisome concept of battling bridezillas, and makes it thoroughly insufferable via a lazy script and wholly detestable characters.

Eye C This is so vain, I really don't think that an important event as a wedding should take it so vain. I don't like it, Mrs. Hathaway can't act angry, she looks so fake when it shout. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Hargie M No character development. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/04/24 Full Review Roasting N A cliched mess of a chick flick, all the relationships in the movie are thoroughly unexplored, even the dynamics of the 2 main characters are not delved unto well. But the most grating thing about this movie that a lot of people skim over, is the fact that Emma basically left her 10+ year relationship over a stupid film with no proper build up to the breakup, and then she suddenly catches feels for Liv's brother? Early on in the movie, that is not even explored nor even hinted on, Emma and Flitcher (her prior partner) had a somewhat healthy and wholesome relationship, also Emma and Liv's brother had a more of a Sister to Brother dynamic which felt sour to the taste once their romance began. I also felt that there would be more to Deb's character and why she is the way she is, but ultimately nearly all the characters are undefined because the runtime wants to prioritize stupid and honestly unfunny skits. Only saving grace to me are Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson's performance tgat somehow sold me their Best Friends For Life dynamic. Overall a cliche film with zero to no character. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review Joshua C I didn't expect much from this one, just a half decent time with a few laughs, and I still feel disappointed. Apart from some comedic scenes, this film is a real nothing burger. Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway's charisma can't save this bland, unfunny, and painfully predictable movie. While it has a good message, the story which is used to convey it isn't. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/17/24 Full Review Christian K Not really offensive in way, just incredibly bland and the leads struggle through the very silly plot and thin characters. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review kagey wow what a stinker. it's hard to root for either main character, so it became difficult to enjoy any of the "bridezilla" antics that the girls participated in. In the end, it left you with a blah feeling. You couldn't care less who "won" or who "lost." To make matters worse, you had Candice narrating as if this were some type of fairy tale that to dense for the average viewer to understand without having it explained. It wasn't. It was a complete waste of time. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/07/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
