It definitely has a dreamlike quality to it that is simply endearing. The story is charming and the dancing is entrancing. Apart from Johnson's heartless character, this is a very enjoyable movie.

Embarrassingly bad. It is not only the worst Lerner and Lowe book, Gene Kelly is no singer, neither is Syd Charisse. It was lack luster in every way. Too bad Robert Goulet's version done for Armstrong, was it? didn't survive. It was filmed on a crappy soundstage, too, but at least there were real singers involved.
