Tommy Albright (Gene Kelly) and Jeff Douglas (Van Johnson), two American pals on a Scottish hunting trip, get lost in the woods and come upon the magical village of Brigadoon. It definitely has a dreamlike quality to it that is simply endearing. The story is charming and the dancing is entrancing. Apart from Johnson's heartless character, this is a very enjoyable movie.

I'll admit that some parts of this classic musical just don't make sense to me, but there's something alluring about the misty moors of Brigadoon. Although, the sets, while quite impressive, make this feel more like an expensive stage production than a Hollywood film. Brigadoon may have disappeared, but the beautiful music and elegant dances won't soon be forgotten.
