Audience Member The gold standard for a behind the scenes look at what it took to make platoon. Paul (doc) Sanchez captures the raw emotion and anxiety the actors, crew and extras were feeling. A must see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member A beautiful, funny and moving tribute to the men who braved the jungles of the Philippines to make the movie Platoon. Lots of behind the scenes anecdotes and film clips with the actors in the film. Very moving accounts of the bonds they formed as they were thrown together into a real boot camp learning how to be soldiers. I laughed, I cried. See it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Great inside look at what the cast and crew went through to put together such an amazingly realistic film. Brothers in Arms captures the emotions of these men. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent behind the scenes look at the making of this iconic film as well as the bond these actors made during its filming that still exist today. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I just finished watching Brothers in Arms, The Making of Platoon. If you haven't seen it, watch it. Better yet, buy it. It's well worth repeat viewings. What sets this documentary apart is the raw and real candor presented by cast and crew. It is funny, intense, and engaging. I wish I could present a personal award to John C. MGinley (Sgt. O'Neill) for the unexpected gut laugh when he said, referring to the theatricl release of Platoon, "Nothing says Christmas like Platoon." If you are a fan of true-to-life, authentic film portraiture of the war in Viet Nam, Platoon is a must see. But do yourself a favor, Brother in Arms is the perfect companion piece! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I just finished watching Brothers in Arms, a 30-year reunion of Platoon. If you haven't seen it, watch it. Better yet, buy it. It's well worth repeat viewings. Funny and intense. The award for my favorite line goes to John McGinley (Sgt. O'Neill): "Nothing says Christmas like Platoon." I damn near wet myself with laughing. If you are a fan of true-to-life, authentic film portraiture of the war in Vietnam Nam, Platoon is a must see. But do yourself a favor, Brother in Arms is the perfect companion piece. Ellen E Jones Guardian Every anecdote is overlong, any point worth making is made seven times over and occasional non-sequitur gems float above the relentless bed of juke-box rock. Rated: 2/5 Oct 1, 2020 Full Review Andrew Gaudion VultureHound It is an occasionally insightful, never particularly ambitious documentary, but one filled with tales of camaraderie and revelry that bring the story of Platoon to life with a clear passion and reverence. Rated: 3/5 Oct 5, 2020 Full Review Richard von Busack MetroActive Watching this documentary, one gets a vicarious sense of the fun and sorrows of an actor's life.
