A beautiful, funny and moving tribute to the men who braved the jungles of the Philippines to make the movie Platoon. Lots of behind the scenes anecdotes and film clips with the actors in the film. Very moving accounts of the bonds they formed as they were thrown together into a real boot camp learning how to be soldiers. I laughed, I cried. See it!

I just finished watching Brothers in Arms, The Making of Platoon. If you haven't seen it, watch it. Better yet, buy it. It's well worth repeat viewings. What sets this documentary apart is the raw and real candor presented by cast and crew. It is funny, intense, and engaging. I wish I could present a personal award to John C. MGinley (Sgt. O'Neill) for the unexpected gut laugh when he said, referring to the theatricl release of Platoon, "Nothing says Christmas like Platoon." If you are a fan of true-to-life, authentic film portraiture of the war in Viet Nam, Platoon is a must see. But do yourself a favor, Brother in Arms is the perfect companion piece!

I just finished watching Brothers in Arms, a 30-year reunion of Platoon. If you haven't seen it, watch it. Better yet, buy it. It's well worth repeat viewings. Funny and intense. The award for my favorite line goes to John McGinley (Sgt. O'Neill): "Nothing says Christmas like Platoon." I damn near wet myself with laughing. If you are a fan of true-to-life, authentic film portraiture of the war in Vietnam Nam, Platoon is a must see. But do yourself a favor, Brother in Arms is the perfect companion piece.
