Slow at times, but brilliant at capturing the traumatic experience of displacement, shedding light on an obscure chapter of Turkish history.

The film is a human drama based on the book 'Tamama'.
In the mid -70s Ayse is a single mature woman living in the black sea region, the death of her adoptive sister lefts her all alone and an identity search begins. Dont expect a love story of course. Maybe some people dont even find it an interesting story (i dont agree though). The cinematography and the misty landscape portait are great. Acting is persuating but its true that i havent notice smt exceptional. I admit that the film lacks nerve into some point and that it ends up abruptly but in general its well executed.
Ok I know, many people in Turkey say that these kind of films are only political. In my eyes here we dont have a political issue, we have something more vital than nationality. Identity. If you don't know your roots you are a leaf in the wind. Loosen up and watch it.
