isla s I found this film a little frustrating, as it seemed as if I was watching a TV series mid-way through a series/season run. The viewer doesn't get too much information about the main, titular characters, in terms of what happened before the time the film starts at, the situations they found themselves in (that I can remember anyway). The performances are good and its a somewhat tense and perhaps intriguing watch in parts, with some good dialogue but it felt too much of a brief glimpse into the characters relationship, rather than fully exploring it. I wouldn't expressly recommend it, no. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This was way better than I expected. I love Bonum-Carter and she was excellent in this movie Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Ethan T A simple but engrossing tale of two stars with history nearing the ends of their careers. Bonham Carter steals the show, and West is also very good himself, although I could not speak to the accuracy of their performances. The emotions and the relationship, though, were both on point and transformed the story from boring or bland to an immensely satisfying TV film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/12/21 Full Review Audience Member Acting luvvies will love this melodramatic rubbish, but the rest of us will just be bored. I dont care! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were a riveting couple and Burton And Taylor was a fairly riveting 90 minutes. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Bonham Carter is charming but not regal. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Deborah Ross Daily Mail (UK) Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were a riveting couple and Burton And Taylor was a wholly riveting 90 minutes. Rated: 4/5 Aug 30, 2017 Full Review Linda Holmes NPR Bonham Carter has a firm hand on a fundamental conflict within Taylor, which is that she seems like such an impossibly elegant, self-possessed woman at some moments and like such an infuriating flake at others. Oct 23, 2013 Full Review Hank Stuever Washington Post Bonham Carter offers up a sympathetic Liz who is in the process of squandering her talent; West makes Burton's brokenness seem like a noble resignation. And both seem surprised that each other's company is no longer the cure for what ails them. Oct 18, 2013 Full Review George Fenwick Stuff.co.nz The film is a fascinating window into two very turbulent celebrities. Aug 27, 2021 Full Review Billy Nilles Zap2it.com Burton and Taylor succeeds thanks to its truncated timeline and intimate feel. Oct 18, 2013 Full Review Matt Roush TV Guide Unlike last year's miserable Liz & Dick Lifetime biopic, BBC America's Burton and Taylor takes a more mature and artful approach - even the title is more respectful - with a giddy Helena Bonham Carter and a wearily dignified Dominic West Oct 18, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews
