Enjoying the gay lifestyle with an extremely active social life, Pedro (José Luis García Pérez) is not quite prepared when his flighty sister, Violeta (Elvira Lindo), drops off her son, Bernardo (David Castillo), at his doorstep. He's supposed to watch Bernardo for a few weeks, but Pedro soon finds out it might be a lot longer than that. He curbs his freewheeling ways for Bernardo, and in doing so, is able to reflect on what he really wants in life, and bond with his young nephew.

Ronnie Scheib Chicago Reader Thoroughly likable, it never resorts to sentimental cliches or moralistic epiphanies. Apr 7, 2010 Full Review Wesley Morris Boston Globe Suddenly this careful and patient movie turns cheap and hasty, with unexpected disclosures, desperate curveballs, and crocodile tears. It's not ruinous, but it's not good either. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 15, 2005 Full Review Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle Purrs with uncommon emotion. Rated: 3/5 Mar 7, 2005 Full Review Stephen Rebello The Advocate Whenever anything truly smart or sexy intervenes... it feels like an interruption in the bland predictability of something on NBC Thursday nights. May 27, 2022 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International The film is, of course, not all sex, and, indeed, brims with observant intelligence. Audience Member While completely imperfect and double-dipping in melodrama, and full of non professional actors as extras or even supporting characters (aside of the star, and some supporting players, the movie plays almost as a who-is-who of the Madrid gay bear scene of the time), the film is actually quite unique, unexpected and unpreachy... my only big complaint is how evil is Empar Ferrer's character, which distracts of the own starring character's faults and flaws, which is what ultimately makes him a balanced, believable character. José Luis García Pérez is fantastic, and also Elvira Lindo in a small role, in which she sounds like a young Chus Lampreave. Beware of some graphic scenes, this is not a movie aimed to children, despite featuring one as center and focus of the story. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Earnest but overly sentimental. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A pesar de sus errores en el guion, el film goza de multiples aciertos visuales, narrativos y a nivel direccion. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member (** 1/2): Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Gay Life from a different angle, that one from the Bear Community. Marvelous !!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member endearing Spanish film focusing more on human relationships rather than just the "oso" culture in Madrid..ending was a bit abrupt and leaves the viewer hanging so 4 out of 5 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews
