Steve D Should have been funnier but with these two fun will be had. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Hilarious one-liners and the great Marion Davies Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review ashley h Cain and Mabel is an okay film. It is about a talented boxer and a gifted dancer who hope to increase their waning popularity by inventing a fictitious love affair for the benefit of the tabloids. Marion Davies and Clark Gable give decent performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Lloyd Bacon did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the humor and romance. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Tom M Cute cookie-cutter 30's comedy with a strong supporting cast. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/21 Full Review Audience Member Acting is average, the stage displays good for the money invested. The dance numbers won an academy award. The scripts being given Marion Davies, or the ones she liked, were simplistic 1920s style love dramas. These simplistic plots became boring as sound took over in the 1930s. The scripts of her films were just not good enough. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Snappy lines and a big production number for Marion Davies! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
