Erin Sullivan Autostraddle Yes, writer Shamim Sarif has managed a believable and engaging romantic comedy that doesn't end in someone jumping off or setting fire to a building, and I think that deserves something special. Aug 18, 2021 Full Review Jon Williams Little White Lies It's such a mish-mash of terrible ideas next to sincere and affecting themes that it never really works and repeatedly sabotages any recommendation. Rated: 1/5 Apr 3, 2009 Full Review Sarah Cohen Time Out From the wince-inducing title onwards, the script is laughably bad, especially when it attempts seriousnes. Rated: 2/6 Apr 3, 2009 Full Review Jason Best Movie Talk The writing and direction is often clumsy and there are wobbly performances... but Ray and Sheth have engaging screen presences and real chemistry. Nov 23, 2014 Full Review Amber Wilkinson Eye for Film If the plot is cheese, it never rises above the level of a Dairylea triangle Rated: 1/5 Apr 10, 2009 Full Review Edward Porter Sunday Times (UK) She is still some way short of making a movie that deserves a ticket-buying audience. Nur S It had a happy ending Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/19/22 Full Review Audience Member Anyone who dislikes this movie is homophobic. For the era (the early 2000s), this film is giving us life. The love story is heartwarming and navigates complicated cultural/familial dynamics. It is odd to hear the blatant antisemitism of Tala's mom, but it does make sense in the context of the cultural dynamics of Tala's family. Granted, some of the dialogue is stilted, but the movie overall is a delight. You will be rooting for Tala and Leyla to the end. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review k c A simple, easy-to-watch love story with happy ending. The forth star is given to the two beautiful actresses who have incredible chemistry with each other, and Tala, perfectly portrayed by Lisa Ray, is the most charming LGBT movie character I ever seen. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It's pretty adorable. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member well acted it is a nice an funny movie. i really liked it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I want to be with someone that ten years from now makes my heart jump when I hear her key in the door too Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
