Mark A Another great swashbuckler with Tyrone Power. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/20/22 Full Review richard f I really loved this movie as melodramatic as it is. The only movie I can remember about the conquest of Mexico. Although misleading in most ways it does show that the Spanish didn't conquer Mexico the tribes that hated the Aztecs played a large role. Disease, of course, was the real conquistador (not shown in the film). I was a kid when this came out so the effect on me as a young man was profound. When I was older and heavily involved in mesoamerican history I learned and did most people many of the truth about the conquest! Steven Spielberg should make "The Conquest of Mexico" and put to rest the fantasy of this film. I'm rating on a boy's memory. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The best movie score ever composed! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Maria C Sumptuous production with a volcano erupting at the end! Fabulous. The film showcases Tyrone, 11 years after becoming a superstar, and he is great. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/07/17 Full Review Audience Member Dated movie, but music by Alfred Newman lives on forever. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review bill t Dull and scattered. No real central plot, just a lot of episodes. Most of which is boring. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Tyrone Power is seen to good advantage in this large-scale epic. Rated: 3/4 Sep 22, 2021 Full Review Nathanael Hood The Retro Set ...suffers from many of the same problems Hollywood epics from that era faced: an interminable length hampered by poor pacing...and a certain deadening heaviness. Rated: 6/10 Jan 9, 2020 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Lavish, overlong, and dull, Henry King's historical adventure stars Tyrone Power in what amounted to one of Fox's biggest-budget productions.
