Audience Member Cheap production, almost all the actors were either 2nd or 3rd generation Japanese American and either spoke Japanes badly or hadn't spoken it in a long time. The village was about as authentic as a town in an Italian spaghetti western. Both main Japanese characters spoke English!! Impossible for Japanese villagers in the remote countryside 67 years ago, much less a young girl. Again, like so many other uninspired films, the writers & producers relied upon cheap romance instead of real content. A painful piece of junk to watch.
