Jim Gannon (Hobart Bosworth), a 30-year lumber company veteran, is fired by the company's chief executive, Charlie Lane (Charles Sellon). Charlie then refuses Jim's request to have his son, Buck (Bill Boyd), take over managing the company, instead hiring Jim's rival, young Hack Logan (Fred Kohler). Meanwhile, Buck ignores his father and heads to a floating gambling boat to meet his girlfriend, Honey (Ginger Rogers). But, with Honey's encouragement, Buck takes on Hack to try and win the company.
