Grace Manger Bitch Media A wonderful and all-too-rare film. Feb 9, 2021 Full Review Heather Hogan Autostraddle It makes me wish the word "epic" hadn't been completely diluted so I could bring the full weight of its meaning to bear on this love story. Extraordinary? Singular? Remarkable? Yes, all of those things too. Jun 26, 2018 Full Review Kristen Yoonsoo Kim Complex To call Carol a Christmas miracle feels like a gaudy understatement, but that's sort of exactly what it is. Rated: 4.5/5 Feb 27, 2017 Full Review Brendan Cassidy InSession Film Carol is arguably my pick for the most beautiful film I’ve seen in 2015. By choosing to focus primarily on setting and theme to drive the story, the true colors of this film are able to shine more clearly... Aug 2, 2024 Full Review Malinda Lo Malinda Lo I loved it. I’m so glad that I saw it and that it exists in the world. It has definitely moved representations of lesbians forward, and I hope that the next time a movie like this is made, more viewers will be better able to feel it. Julian S CAROL is a powerful story of love and prejudice, vividly set in a richly realized 1950s America, elevated by Haynes’ hypnotic direction. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/03/24 Full Review Audience Member Good awful, empty, dumbed down, supposedly ground breaking and ugly to look at and listen to. Everything (and everyone) is just a bad prop. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Marit Risto F One of my very favourite films 💕 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/30/24 Full Review J F All my friends were shocked to hear, that I only have seen this film for the first time in 2024. And I'm actually astonished myself. The actresses were amazing, the setting in the 50s was a great choice. I was mesmerized and engaged by the story, the secretive but very obvious attraction just got me. Absolute must watch! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/29/24 Full Review Carolina B One watch and it’s already one of my favorite movies of all time. I would recommend everyone to watch this movie at least once in their lifetime. The acting and cinematography are absolutely phenomenal. There’s an almost immediate tension which never dies out. The movie as a whole is attention catching, there wasn’t one scene that I got distracted or felt bored. One of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen in my life and one that I will most definitely be rewatching over and over again. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review Ileana H My favourite movie of all time. I love it soo much and wil be rewatching it forever. If you wan’t to cry to a beautiful lesbian movie watch Carol. I recommend it to everyone!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/09/24 Full Review Read all reviews
