W. Naka Piohia Carol is a retelling of the Charles Dicken's tale, "A Christmas Carol" as a Christian allegory. A good work of art with great music and dialogue. This viewer however felt it flowed more like a medley of christian music videos than a Hollywood film production. It starts with homeless people dancing in the streets amidst the town's epic economical recession which seemed quite odd and out of character with the dialogue that was occuring on the screen. I found it overtly religious, pushing the salvation message from the very beginning and with every song. Subtle they were not. Some of the songs seemed a little out of sequence with the story's progression. But overall I give it an 8 out of 10 for the beautiful music and humorous dialogue. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/16/24 Full Review Ryan The quality was awful. The music the people sang was not even singing with their voices! Too much background sounds too when there was dancers they have the clicking so loud. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/15/24 Full Review Eric Stenson Fabulous!!! This well-crafted musical is a wonderful twist on Dickens' classic. Replete with engaging original song & dance numbers that are performed with skill and passion! The acting and cinematography are finely tuned. A true treasure trove of entertainment. Be prepared to have the "Bah humbug" knocked out of you and replaced with a true joy for the season!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/17/24 Full Review Howie A It is very musical, and it was like being at a Broadway play. You can tell the acting is not top-notch, and there are way too many musical numbers. Two people walked out in the first 20 minutes, and another couple left the movie in 30 minutes. Overall, it was a weird movie. Granted, it has a very good message and is on the religious side, but it is not worth sitting to watch unless you love musicals and quite religious.
