Taron Egerton and an against-type Jason Bateman make for great adversaries in Carry-On, a throwback thriller that clears all checkpoints of plot logic with its confident execution.

Peter Rainer FilmWeek (LAist) A real guilty pleasure. Jan 17, 2025 Full Review Adam Graham Detroit News "Carry-On" is an action movie that is definitely a Christmas movie, no ifs, ands or buts about it. Rated: B Jan 13, 2025 Full Review Tim Robey Daily Telegraph (UK) ... A filling chunk of crude entertainment – as carb-rich and greens-free as the baked potato you’ll probably eat with it. Rated: 3/5 Jan 8, 2025 Full Review Marta Medina mundoCine A fairly entertaining and intriguing film that keeps you glued to the screen and, yes, let’s call it what it is: a popcorn flick, even if it never made it to theaters. At times formulaic and with some implausible moments, though. [Full Review in Spanish] Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 20, 2025 Full Review Cameron Ritter Geek Vibes Nation Carry-On proves itself to be more than a mid-level thriller with exceptional performances from its two leads and consistent work from Jaume Collet-Serra and his team of talented craftspeople. Rated: 7/10 Jul 20, 2025 Full Review John Daniel Tangalin The Cinema Spot Despite its at-times overwhelming screenplay resulting in a prolonged runtime, Collet-Serra and Fixman’s crime thriller is packed with enough action and mystery to satisfy audiences for the festive season. Jerry V Even Bateman couldn't save the movie from the myriad of tropes, the least of which is the ending. Oddly timed humor, painfully unrealistic depiction of an airport, and it leaves a viewing with one lesson: LAX must be a sanctuary city. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/01/25 Full Review Jax E This movie is so good. great story, good action, and great emotion. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/20/25 Full Review Ben S Loved this film a shame it wasn't in theaters it would have done well. Great amazing action can't wait to watch again 😀. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/11/25 Full Review Angela S Really good film. Not too deep, tense at times a good watch for a wet afternoon. 👍🏻 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/06/25 Full Review Audience Member Quite possibly the worst movie I've ever had the displeasure of laying my eyes on in my life. I feel like everyone is just pretending on here. The plot is beyond thick. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/02/25 Full Review Eric B One word: TAUT! This movie is a credit to the genre. Out-of-the-box plot, twist, twist, twist, non-stop tension and conflict, never 'jumps-the-shark", terrifically acted, directed, and a really good script, which should give a clue as to why Bateman and Egerton were signed on. Once all the exposition is out of the way, it's one hell of a ride. Rotten Tomatoes PopcornMeter, or whatever it is, gives it a mediocre score, while the Critics give it a VERY respectable 88. Trust the Critics on this one. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/30/25 Full Review Read all reviews
