M.V. Moorhead Less Hat, Moorhead Cushing, unsurprisingly, is great, and Morell is sensational, in maybe the best role he ever had, as the sinister yet curiously charismatic thief. Mary H The story plays out within the few rooms of the small English bank (not unlike Hitchcock’s Dial M For Murder) and it’s very well shot and directed. Acting is superb..I especially enjoyed Peter Cushing..and all characters are cleverly scripted. A fun Christmas movie of an unusual type. Highly recommended. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/25/25 Full Review Josh R Brilliant acting, especially by Peter Đ¡ushing! A fairly well-made thriller that, despite its simplicity, keeps you hooked until the very end... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/25/24 Full Review Bill B Decent bank-heist drama with some light-hearted moments. Cushing, Morell and Vernon are all very good. The ending was a bit convoluted, but otherwise pretty solid. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/06/24 Full Review nick s The ending fell a liitle flat for me, but it was a very engaging ride. A tour de force from the lead actors Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/01/23 Full Review tim o Odd little Peter Cushing brit heist film. Interesting set of plot contrivances, with incrementing tension. Not riveting, but an entertaining way to pass 90mins. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Tepid and tedious stage play, boringly directed for the screen, about a mousey bank manager (Cushing) being blackmailed by a very theatrical AndrĂ© Morell just before Christmas. The pace is leaden, the plotting unimaginative, the purpose entirely lost on me. Richard Vernon is oddly cast as a Cockney bank teller in a bad wig.
