In this tense thriller, John Travolta is Mason, leader of a high-end crew of thieves that hang it up for good after a double-cross spells a near miss with the law. But when he's thrust into his younger brother Shawn's hare-brained scheme to rob a bank -- and tempted by what could be his biggest score ever -- Mason jumps right back into his old ways. Then the heist goes awry, and the thieves are trapped inside the bank with hostages while surrounded by SWAT teams, the FBI, and Interpol. Included among the authorities waiting to nab the crew is someone Mason knows well: lead negotiator Decker (Kristin Davis) -- Mason's former lover.

Catherine Bray Guardian Chalk it up to an insufficiently distinctive screenplay and underwhelming plot, but for Travolta, Cash Out feels more like a mercenary case of cashing in. Rated: 2/5 Jul 5, 2024 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com Cash Out is a paint-by-numbers action-thriller that even with a few intriguing ideas is sadly so anemically paced and rudimentarily plotted it runs out of steam before it has the chance to pick up even a modicum of speed. Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 30, 2024 Full Review Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times At 70, Travolta still exudes a certain movie-star twinkle in the heist thriller, which plays like a solid, B-movie riff on The Thomas Crown Affair. Rated: 3/4 Apr 27, 2024 Full Review Jayne Nelson Radio Times Director Randall Emmett pulls off some pleasing visual slickness, but he also overuses zippy, high-speed drone shots, which start to distract from the action. Rated: 2/5 Jul 9, 2024 Full Review Nicholas Bell Fish Jelly Films (YouTube) Evoking the same desperation induced at a restaurant where all conceivable aspects of the experience were lamentably subpar, the exit sign beckons while you wait to Cash Out. Gary B Simply soooooooo bad. JT what the hell are you signing up for such an awful film. The acting is up there or down there it reminds me of a school play for under 8s. Turned it off after 15 minutes. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/01/24 Full Review Lesedi S Not bad at all the actors tried their best, I blame the director...the ending was horrible to be honest it just died and they missed some important moments by playing unnecessary moments of nothing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/24 Full Review Dave V Don't know why everybody is hating on this. It was entertaining a nice change from the shootouts, car chases and explosions. I thought it was well done and a fun watch. It's a good movie. Not the greatest, but it moves along nicely and I like the plot. Give it a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/19/24 Full Review Tracy T I'm having a hard time getting my head around this being the same director for films like Escape Plan, Silence, Heist... the dialogue and dialogue delivery are truly terrible. The plot would have been workable if not for seasoned actors acting like this was their first film. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/16/24 Full Review Lloyd S Dumb movie. Not worth watching it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/15/24 Full Review V W Good story. Interesting characters and plot twists. Loved how the main character was a thief but a good guy and very clever. I was entertained from beginning to end. A nice change from all the boring movies of late that have very little story but way too many trains, planes, and automobile chases, people randomly shooting, or using martial arts to kill an unrealistic number of people, etc. Those movies are little more than videogames masquerading as movies. This movie, on the other hand had a plot. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/14/24 Full Review Read all reviews
