Wackerbarth is no Fassbinder and the drab, handheld realism here lacks the flair of the film to which it alludes - although Lust gives a complex, layered performance at the centre. Go to Full Review

The auditions are presented in thorough, painstaking detail, with lots of inside-baseball talk about the nature of acting; if you're into that sort of thing, I recommend Chantal Akerman's Les Années 80 (1983). Go to Full Review
