Bruce H The story of redemption by sacrifice, the ultimate stoic warrior. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/23/23 Full Review graciela o ...lástima el final.... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/15/23 Full Review Thomas M Shite! Minimum characters not met so shite again! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/23/23 Full Review Claire M Gripping viewing but it's quite short and ends abruptly, which makes for a feeling of having been robbed of a proper ending. Obviously there can't always be a 'happy ending' but the ending didn't fit the build up. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/15/23 Full Review Donny P Undoubtedly , this is one of the best movies of the year. It keeps it real and doesn't tie everything up in a nice bow tied Hollywood happy ending. The missing women in the US, Mexico, and the Indigenous population don't want to hear the whiners who complained during their reviews about the disappointing ending. GET OVER IT! That is the reality for the thousands of girls who go missing every year in this world. As was stated in the movie, "no one's looking for them, because no on cares". We know who runs this world and they were prominently displayed as the antagonists in the film. I guess that's why no Oscars and other awards this film is richly deserving. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/25/23 Full Review Nick W A gritty and grim independent film experience that has a lot to note on the realities of human trafficking, especially the more vulnerable demographics. The film spares no time (and even seems to suggest how quickly things happen with this subject matter) transporting viewers to the waist-deep aspects of its conflict. Kali Reis gives an impressive physical performance here, and even holds her own in the more emotional scenes. Director Wladyka keeps the action grounded to the main protagonist, never letting us the viewers feel above her experiences. Leslie Felperin Guardian Clearly, [Wladyka] has a knack for filming crime stories, especially where they overlap with tales of exploitation and the dispossessed underclass. Rated: 3/5 Apr 4, 2022 Full Review Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) This is good. This is very, very good. Feb 24, 2022 Full Review Sarah-Tai Black Los Angeles Times “Catch the Fair One” ultimately disappoints more than it enlightens. It fails to ask not what are the means of its violence, but the effects, or even its transformative potential. Feb 11, 2022 Full Review Robert W. Butler Butler's Cinema Scene The depth of the characterizations, the aura of tragic inevitability, the way in which horrible acts are made even more unsettling because they’re presented in such a matter-of-fact, non-exploitative manner…all these add up to a truly gripping [film]. Rated: B+ Mar 22, 2024 Full Review Lee Zumpe Tampa Bay Newspapers Shot in upstate New York, the film’s cinematography evokes a tangible hopelessness through bleak landscapes, grey skies, dense forests, and remote dwellings. Oct 31, 2023 Full Review Ema Sasic Next Best Picture From the start, audiences will find themselves hooked by Kaylee's journey and the fight that she's about to embark on. She's definitely tough, based on her once profession and physical appearance, but we also see so many other sides of her. Rated: 7/10 Jun 21, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews
