Phil Hoad Guardian Though Catching Dust eventually settles into a more conventional noir register, Gatt commits to his characters and follows them to unlikely destinations. Rated: 4/5 Jan 14, 2025 Full Review Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com “Catching Dust” should be a character study of two very different couples and how they influence one another, but it never quite takes these people seriously enough to work on that level. Jun 15, 2023 Full Review Robert W. Monk Flickering Myth As a relationship drama with a crime backdrop, Catching Dust is well worth getting lost in. Jan 12, 2025 Full Review Sebastian Zavala Kahn Loud and Clear Reviews In a general sense, I enjoyed my time with Catching Dust, but at the same time, I wish I could’ve liked it more. Nevertheless, if you’re looking for a well-shot and well-acted Western-inspired feature, you should definitely give it a chance. Rated: 3/5 Jan 6, 2025 Full Review Julian Roman MovieWeb Erin Moriarty and Jai Courtney shine as complex characters in a tense thriller that challenges existing expectations. Director Stuart Gatt navigates themes of loneliness, abuse, and resentment with bold storytelling. Avindu G A story where perfect mirages takes a deadly physical neighbourly intrusive form. A couple's resentment gets unearthed by the brutal winds of change. Couple of messengers are a mirage he draws same as distressed housewife and she plants and keen on sustenance as the lonely hunter does, it's the perfect storm in the calm deserted hideout. Like the growing kettle of vultures the visuals are rich with symbolism. Great tone of colours fixing the audience on what's to be seen in every frame. Great audio effects. Perfect work by the cast portraying the emotions. A slow burning thriller that has the right amount of triggers to keep the audience hooked. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/25 Full Review Ernie B Had me going until the end when they must have run out of money or film. Ending made no sense. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/27/25 Full Review Melissa G Beautifully shot and well acted with solid pacing and tension that drives the film to the end — but the ending fell flat, in my opinion. Still worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/25 Full Review Luke B The performances and cinematography are incredible. What could have been a really bland story is elevated by clever exploration of characters and the world they inhabit. Feels like the kind of indie we rarely see anymore. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/25 Full Review Audience Member Well worth a watch, the crazy thing is even though it's slow and telling a tale I felt it could have been a series or at least an extra hour to delve further in before the ending. It's definitely type of movie that if they did a prequel of id watch Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/04/25 Full Review Amy B Gorgeous gorgeous film Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/18/24 Full Review Read all reviews
