It's shameful how some critics bombed this production. For a silly musical created from a silly poem, it has everything one could want out of this type of entertainment: heartthrob sensual costumes and makeup; catchy songs; incredible vocals; erotic acrobatics; lurid vignettes; an assembly of flawed but honorable heroes; a spicy, enigmatic villain; a loosely-knit community of feline femininity and masculine bravado; light sprinkles of magic; a story of heavenly ascension we can imagine to which cats can easily relate. I don't know what more we can ask.

Don't mix up this great 1998 filmed stage version with that horrible 2019 remake.

Great music and dancing, just not my cup of tea overall. "Memory" is a great song.

I watched it with a Pot Brownie as people who watched it sober said not to watch it sober or I would hate it. So it was ok. The music is good. The story is really sinister and (without giving the ending away) it was like Logan's Run. Those cats never had a chance.

Cats is a purr-fect stage-to-screen adaptation of Lord Webber's musical, I loved it as a kid, and I still love it now. (Also still can't believe that the 2019 movie has a higher rating than this (BY 1%))

Highly recommend watching this one before the 2019 version, music is great, dance is even better, brave actors for not feeling uncomfortable during some scenes.
