Halle Berry is the lone bright spot, but even she can't save this laughable action thriller.

David Stratton At the Movies (Australia) Bereft of excitement and with action scenes similar to those we've seen a dozen times before, this is a very poor effort indeed. Rated: 1/5 Jun 29, 2015 Full Review Andrea Gronvall Chicago Reader The screenplay's a hodgepodge of witchcraft, ancient Egyptian lore, pulp feminism, and a dash of S&M. May 3, 2014 Full Review Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal Catwoman's director, a visual-effects specialist named Pitof, is not contained by the rules of filmmaking. Scenes that make sense? Nonsense. Characters with inner lives? Utterly passe. Nick R An absolute disaster on every front. Awful action, terrible characters, a ridiculously horrible plot, and terrible direction. It completely ignores all references to the comics to the point where even her name is different. Halle Berry is a great talent, and this movie (if you can even call it that) completely dishonors her. As far as bad superhero movies go, this is the bottom of the barrel. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review Birithivy Y Catwoman - 1/10. Halle Berry is a legend. So is Sharon Stone. So how messed up does a movie have to be to make you feel their talents have been wasted? Really bad, and Catwoman is an extremely bad movie. Mind you, Berry does her damn hardest to try and salvage this wreck of a movie. But by god is this movie horrible. And I’m not talking about bad in a sense of “so bad its good.” I’m talking scorch of the earth, landfill worthy production. This is a laughably horrible production and it just makes you feel the plight of the viewer. I remember seeing it and everyone just feeling like it was a waste of that amount of time in our day. Jesus, I hope I never see another adaptation like this again. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/27/24 Full Review magdy e Critics have consistently criticized Catwoman (2004), but particularly Halle Berry's portrayal remains a memorable piece of work in its own right. While no one expected anything to surpass Michelle Pfeiffer's nuanced performance at that time, Berry brought her own distinctive charm to the role, blending her charisma and laid-back presence to create a Catwoman that left a lasting impression. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/11/24 Full Review malika h I really I enjoyed it. I find nothing objectionable about the film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/11/24 Full Review Måns P This movie is extraordinary, showing us the true icon of what a 'Catwoman' should be. Halle Berry did an perfect job and left many queer people satisfied with her perfomance. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/23/24 Full Review Tom F It doesn’t work well on any level, as intentional or unintentional camp or whatever else people were trying to do with superheroes in 2004.
