Halle Berry is not to blame at all, but the script is ridiculous, the editing gives you a headache with so many cuts per second, and the visual effects are deplorable. Director Pitof embraces exaggerated camera angles, stylized action, and a comic-book aesthetic that gives the film its own identity, and a few rooftop chases and acrobatic fight scenes offer flashes of the superhero spectacle you'd expect. Unfortunately, that's where most of the positives end. Rather than adapting Selina Kyle, the film invents an entirely new mythology that bears little resemblance to the beloved comic-book character. The screenplay is filled with weak motivations, inconsistent world-building, and plot developments that rarely make sense, making it difficult to invest in the story or its characters. Halle Berry does what she can with the material, but even her commitment can't overcome the uneven script. As a comic-book adaptation, it misses the mark almost completely, and as a standalone superhero film, it's just as disappointing. The no intensity in the action. the transformation into cat woman was boring. The idea of giving the character her own standalone story was interesting, especially with Halle Berry stepping into the role, bringing undeniable screen presence and confidence. She does her best with the material and carries a lot of the film’s energy, but unfortunately, she’s working with a script that doesn’t fully support her. The story itself feels a bit disjointed, moving from one scene to another without much depth or emotional build-up. Instead of developing Catwoman into a complex and compelling character, the film leans heavily on flashy visuals and stylized action, which quickly grows repetitive. Some moments are fun in a campy, early-2000s way, but they don’t quite come together to create a strong narrative. See more Tsaki M @tsaki May 17 One of the most iconic superhero movies. I've seen some people question the concept of a superhero having cat powers, although anyone who knows cats knows they're badass and fearless (at least it makes more sense than a superhero with spider powers...).
