bill t Pretty dull movie about a detective assigned to a small town to examine a bunch of killings of women. Pretty soon he realizes a Vampire is to blame, and just takes his time getting to the goddamn fault of the matter. Has nothing to do with living dead. Interesting that this film was named so before Romero's film which came out in 68. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member These living dead are vampires. They are not the debonaire, classy type vampires, but creepy typekinda like Nosferatu (in fact borrowing some camera angles and style directly). A police inspector travels to a rural European village to find the reason behind the death's of half dozen women in as many months. The lone Black person in the village is thought by many to be the killer, while others blame the vampires who live in the caves and rise at midnight. The Black guy is scared of the vampire also at one point asking curiously, "Do you think vampires like Black blood?" Pretty slow with an odd jazzy soundtrack, only worth a watch for vampire completists or fans of 60s Euro horror. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Aka The Curse of Green Eyes; Night of the Vampire. Described best by VideoHound's comment 'not much to recommend here'. A bit slow, not a great story or script... it's okay, but nothing special. Very strange choice of music (50's rockabilly) played by the detective in his car on the way to the village and during the credits at the end - didn't really fit with the tone of the film. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Plays more like a murder mystery than a vampire film, with a few interesting vampire chicks. Not too much to write home about. One surprize-a breif boobie shot of the female lead! For a film made in 1964....very unusual. This was more than likely the reason the Britsh Board of Censors gave it the dreaded Certificate 'X' rating. Ok time waster. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
