Nicholas B There's many familiar notes here. The classic indie road trip of self discovery. But the thing is, it always works when it's done well. Cerulean Blue is done well. At times it's contrived, and hits it's staple share of cliched moment's of drama and reflection. But there's a message here about how life keeps moving forward; that it refuses to wait for you or anyone else. The film conveys this message effectively. That's no small achievement. This is a film that deserves broader recognition and appreciation. The performances are excellent. The screenplay is a little bit muddled at times, but the script is mostly very good. In the end though, it's all about the message. A strong meditation on probably just about anyone's worst existential nightmare; a life that passes you by, unlived. Simple and effective. I'd recommend it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
