See more 10/23/2007 This is an excellent tribute to Mingus's extraordinary genius. While it treats his life (there's amazing footage of his early career) the focus is--as it should be--his work. The scene with Eric Dolphy is breathtaking. Also some great shots of Ellington and interviews with many musicians including John Handy and George Adams.
