      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Kids will be entertained by the straightforward plot and cute animals, and adults will be charmed by how quiet and humble the production is, a fine translation of E.B. White's genteel prose.

Zack H AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great movie Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/24 Full Review Massimo 2 capolavoro che ha segnato l'infanzia di molti Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/24 Full Review Leticia q This is a best piggy movie ever I wanna see it🤣🤣 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/11/23 Full Review Omote S This film is similar to Babe, but the brilliant adaptation of the original and the literary and intelligent story that even children will enjoy will make you less confident that Babe is clearly the better film. Fern (Dakota Fanning) rescues a baby pig that is about to be killed by its father. The pig, whom she names Wilbur, is eventually sold to a nearby farmer. Wilbur makes friends with Charlotte, a spider who is not well-liked by the other animals in the farmhouse. Wilbur is born in the spring and has a goal of seeing snow. However, spring-born pigs are roasted as pork and turned into sausage or ham by winter. This makes it difficult for spring-born pigs to see the snow. In order for Wilbur to see the snow and not become a sausage, Charlotte spells out a message on her nest. "Some Pig." Eleven years before this there was a film about an Australian pig called Babe. This film is not as critically acclaimed as Babe, but it is a better story than Babe on some fronts, a beautifully crafted adaptation of E.B. White's children's book for children and adults alike, with some intelligent and sensitive remnants of children's literature in the film. Babe excels in many areas, but if you look at the story alone, perhaps this film is better. The animals are vividly portrayed, and the friendship between a pig and a spider is delicately and wonderfully portrayed. It is nothing short of wonderful. Rated: 3/5 Feb 9, 2007 Full Review Sukhdev Sandhu Daily Telegraph (UK) This film does what all children's films should do: not just offer lots of entertaining things to look at, but teach children how to look at the world with curiosity, attentiveness and joy. Feb 9, 2007 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com The kind of warm and fuzzy, non-distracting family film that Hollywood hardly touches anymore.
