Audience Member Well, random acts of violence ... that says it all! Poor acting and not very polished anywhere. Len Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member ★★ (out of four) The idea is there and there are a few scenes that are on the mark, but, unfortunately, "Charm", which has been renamed "Random Acts of Violence" on video, fails to drive its point home, giving us instead an annoying lead character who is probably, sadly, the mouthpiece of the writer/director. Shot as a mockumentary style that is nice in some ways, but also hurts the films overall believability. We find a documentary filmmaker following around his demented subject for a movie he is making. The subject is a psychopath who believes that New York City was more exciting back in the days when murderers, hookers, and drug dealers rules the streets. He wants to bring back that mahem, by randomly killing people while the crew films him. I must say I got a bit of satisfaction when he decides to murder a guy who won't stop texting while in the middle of a movie ion a theater. But, overall the idea grows tedious and it just isn't executed very well.
