Marilyn Ferdinand Chicago Reader Rosenmeyer and Conner are great foils, and Horsford, with her sweet tea and southernisms, nearly walks off with the movie. Apr 8, 2020 Full Review John DeFore The Hollywood Reporter Even those who find the script's contrivances absurd may deem it diverting enough, for a third-hand story of obsessive competition. Oct 5, 2018 Full Review Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times The characters at the black heart of this bleak comedy are consumed by their need for a rare record, but none of their passion translates to the audience. Oct 4, 2018 Full Review Nathan Mattise Ars Technica The story bounces around time periods while crime and death occur. But Chasing the Blues keeps its audience smirking throughout... Jul 28, 2021 Full Review Stephen Saito Moveable Fest Although the film mines big laughs from the rivals' single-mindedness, it wisely resists ever becoming full-fledged wacky. Oct 22, 2018 Full Review Daniel M. Kimmel North Shore Movies It's primarily a showcase for two young actors, Grant Rosenmeyer and Ronald L. Conner, who succeed in making the slight premise more entertaining than it warrants. Rated: 2.5/5 Oct 19, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Had good moments of humor but dragged in the middle portion. The ending was confusing. Still, at moments was laugh out loud funny. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member This rather dark comedy has its moments but never seems to gel into anything substantial. Anna Maria Horsford is a hoot in a supporting role. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Great Film--darkly funny and deliciously different!
