Cheech is ultimately done in by the derivative nature of its backward structure, too many people-screaming-in-rooms scenes and the almost entirely disengaging nature of its characters. Go to Full Review Rick Groen Globe and Mail 12/15/2006

Directing such a cavalcade, Patrice Sauv seems less an assured auteur than an overtaxed traffic cop, waving this one ahead and holding that one back and ultimately, when the final pile-up looms, just tooting his whistle in shrill frustration. Go to Full Review Bruce Kirkland Jam! Movies 12/15/2006

06/06/2012 C'est ça, Cheech? Non, sérieusement, c'est incroyablement bien réalisé, ça il n'y a aucun doute là-dessus. Sauvé a fait une job ahurissante, et c'est ce qui a donné à Cheech la réputation qu'il a aujourd'hui. Par contre, il me semble que l'histoire est un peu maigre, et c'est de vouloir nous prendre pour des idiots que de nous le comparer à Crash. Ce n'est pas notre Crash québécois. L'histoire est intéressante, mais les personnages se connaissent tous, et ça en enlève à la beauté de la chose. Bon petit film quand même.
