Audience Member 2003 US Director: Eric Stanze & Robin Garrels Score: 3 This movie finally made it all clear to me. Now I understand. Director Stanze is under the impression that making porno movies is somehow less respectable than making independent horror films. That’s just me making an assumption, I’ll admit that here and now, but I am basing that assumption on the several Stanze movies I have watched now and the common content most of them have. I really think he is a frustrated wanna-be porn director but he makes horror film instead to seem more legit. Pretty much every single film of his that I have watched has porn elements in it. This movie even has them during the beginning credits! C’mon Eric, you want to make porn go for it! It’s a long standing American industry and probably more profitable than independent B-horror production anyway. So anyway, this film has everything I have come to expect from a film with Stanze in the director’s chair. The story is weak, this time weaker than normal, even for an independent B-movie. It takes ideas from movies such as The Grudge to give it very weak “supernatural” element and then wanders between the usual filler shots that Stanze’s movies are known for (at least for me) and almost continuous sex scenes. As usual the SFX are one of the better and only well done things about the film. The music score isn’t as bad as I have heard some of these productions reach either. The actors don’t really do much besides have sex and fake cry. Watching it was a real time waster. Notes: XV-XL-GN-SA Suggested Age: Adults Only Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
