While there’s a lot I liked about Christmas Under The Lights, especially Emily’s emotional arc as she makes peace with her relationship with her mother, ultimately it’s not a film that stands out in the pantheon of great holiday films.

Christmas Under the Lights is a story about grief and starting over. Led by Heather Hemmens and Marco Grazzini, so much of the film works because there’s an undeniable level of heart sprinkled into every frame.

Characters had no chemistry. Everyone seemed so upset at each other. The "small town" (just outside of Seattle) that doesn't have an espresso machine? Come on now. Why does everyone get so upset if someone doesn't say "Merry Christmas"? Jerry is so hot now because he's been working out more. Who tells a distant friend this about their own husband? This movie just lacks joy.
