Ballad of a Soldier is a masterpiece and his other stuff, while good, just isn't consistent enough to be incredible. Clear Skies features some fantastic cinematography. The problem is that it also features some strange, and just plain bad, effects. There are times when the colors are drained and look great. But other times the color looks normal at best. Also, some moments between the two main characters are heartfelt, emotional, and some of the best love scenes I've seen. Other times it's overacted and entirely too sentimental.
